The Local Government Unit, led by Mayor Heidee Chua in partnership with the Rural Health Unit of Asingan, successfully launched the 2016 Nutrition Month.

Mayor Chua highlighted the importance of investing in health and nutrition, especially during the First 1000 days of a child and assured to support all endeavors and initiatives in improving the health and nutritional status of the people in Asingan.

The 2016 Nutrition Month campaign, “First 1000 Days ni Baby Pahalagahan Para sa Malusog na Kinabukasan”, aims to create awareness on the importance of proper infant and young child feeding practices, particularly exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months and giving appropriate complementary food after six months while continuing breastfeeding.
The first 1,000 days of life are the focus of this year’s national Nutrition Month celebration in July.
