The Solid Waste Management personnel of the Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) are using a Glass Pulverizer Machine to properly manage broken bottles and glass waste that are considered unusable.
According to Cris Olivas, designated Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Officer, the personnel process an average of 10 sacks of glass daily, turning the waste into safe and reusable materials used in making hollow blocks.
Residents may bring their broken bottles or broken glass to the MRF to ensure proper disposal and recycling. This initiative not only promotes environmental sustainability but also ensures community safety by reducing the risks associated with broken glass.
The municipality has two Glass Pulverizer Machines—one funded by the local government and another provided by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST)—to support its waste management operations
