With many Filipinos still facing economic challenges, the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) in Asingan is encouraging the public to take advantage of its available skills training programs.

Recent labor data show that around 2.26 million Filipinos were unemployed as of late 2025, underscoring the continued need for skills development and employment opportunities nationwide.

According to Jess Salagubang, Vocational School Administrator III of TESDA Asingan, more than 500 scholarship slots are currently available for various technical and vocational training courses.

Salagubang said TESDA Asingan is currently conducting five batches of diploma programs, including Hotel and Management Technology (HMT) and Civil Engineering Technology.

Several new training programs are also set to begin following a recently conducted Training Induction Program. These include Trainer’s Methodology I, Events Management III, and Electronic Products Assembly and Servicing.

TESDA has received scholarship allocations for nine qualifications, totaling around 550 training slots. So far, about 75 slots have already been filled, with each training batch accommodating 25 trainees.

Despite this, Salagubang said many slots remain open, encouraging interested individuals to enroll and take advantage of TESDA’s free training opportunities.

He added that acquiring technical skills and certifications can help individuals improve their chances of finding stable employment and better opportunities in today’s competitive job market.
