Elected and appointed officials of Barangay Toboy have been actively conducting Saturday clean-up drives under the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Kalinga at Inisyatiba Para sa Malinis na Bayan (KALINISAN) Program.
In an interview, Punong Barangay Frederick Guerrero shared that the initiative started as early as 2024 and aims to prevent flooding, maintain clean irrigation canals and roads, and ensure proper water flow for local farmers.
On average, the clean-up drives collect 10 to 20 sacks of garbage, mostly consisting of plastics, diapers, and other household waste.
Guerrero emphasized that the activity reflects the barangay’s strong commitment to cleanliness, environmental protection, and community cooperation, especially in observance of Zero Waste Month.
