Hard work and dedication paid off for the Municipality of Asingan. The town was recognized for its exemplary health programs at the 15th Provincial Health Summit, themed “Dungawan ng Kahusayan sa Kalusugan.”

 

Asingan was named Champion in recognition of its excellence in community health programs, lifestyle disease prevention, and tuberculosis control. Leading the municipality’s initiatives against lifestyle-related illnesses is Marilou O. Torio, Nurse III, who serves as the Non-Communicable Disease Program Coordinator.

 

The municipality also earned the Runner-Up award in the Large Category under the National Tuberculosis Program, highlighting its sustained commitment to improving public health outcomes. Karen Karoline V. Garcia, Medical Technologist II, heads the local TB program, overseeing prevention, detection, treatment, and community engagement.

Nita L. Romero, Municipal Nutrition Action Officer, was recognized as a finalist for her work in advancing local nutrition programs. Officials also praised the Municipal Health Office staff, led by Dr. Ronnie Tomas and Dra. Hester Marie Robeniol, and lauded Mayor Carlos Lopez Jr. for his leadership in fostering thriving public health initiatives.

In addition, Asingan received a Certificate of Recognition as a Finalist in the 2024 Search for the Green Banner Seal of Compliance, affirming the municipality’s commitment to maintaining high standards in monitoring and evaluating local health programs.
