Members of the Asingan Annual Kankanen and Cultural Celebration Executive Committee are gearing up for this year’s town fiesta.

The final canvassing for Mrs. Asingan 2026 has been rescheduled to March 26 at 7:00 PM at the Municipal Gymnasium, organizers said.

To support the street dancing competition, Asingan Mayor Carlos Lopez Jr. and First Lady Mrs. Sheryl Lopez will provide ₱50,000 per group from personal funds, while retaining last year’s theme and music to ease preparations.

Activities include the street dancing competition, Battle of the Bands sponsored by San Miguel Beer, coronation night, achievers night, barangay and educators night, senior citizens day on April 21, and a medical mission in partnership with local and provincial hospitals.

Among the highlights of the festival is the showcase of 550 bilao of kankanen (native rice cakes), featuring local delicacies such as biko.

Last year, residents from different barangays, schools, and community groups participated in preparing kankanen, reflecting the town’s cultural heritage and community spirit.
