Around 200 attendees, including TODA members and Senior High School students, took part in the Integration of the Barangay Information Network and Illegal Drug Symposium for TODA. This event supported P.R.O.T.E.C.T Asingan.
The initiative brought together TODA members, essential figures in public transportation, and Senior High School students, who are future community leaders. They aimed to tackle the urgent issue of illegal drugs while promoting safety and awareness.
The Asingan Municipal Police Station, led by Police Major John Ishmart Jose, provided talks on the dangers of illegal drugs, their effects on people and communities, and ways to prevent them. Interactive sessions encouraged participants to discuss how drug-related issues affect their daily lives, focusing on local concerns such as transportation and education. Q&A sessions allowed attendees to ask experts about signs of drug abuse, protection strategies, and available community resources.
The program began with welcoming remarks from Police Major John Ishmart Jose, followed by messages from Mayor Carlos Lopez Jr., Vice Mayor Heidee Chua, Dr. Jesus Cardinez of MDRRMO, and Brechie Jane Arellano, LGOO VI/MLGOO. PMSg Onofre Quiming Jr., PMSg Joy Ordanza, PMSg Raymund Acosta, and PSSg Anthony Eric V. Mostoles conducted the main lecture.
The event not only educated but also empowered attendees. It fostered a sense of shared responsibility for the community’s well-being and strengthened efforts toward a safer Asingan.
