Women took the lead as the Municipality of Asingan held a Fun Run to kick off the celebration of National Women’s Month 2026, gathering 152 local runners in a show of unity, strength, and empowerment.
Observed every March, National Women’s Month recognizes the vital role and contributions of women in society while promoting gender equality and empowerment. The 2026 observance continues the country’s commitment to strengthening women’s role in nation-building and ensuring equal opportunities for all.
The activity was organized by the Local Government Unit of Asingan and initiated by the Asingan Local Council of Women (LCW), led by its chairperson, Vice Mayor Heidee Chua, to promote health, solidarity, and stronger support for women in the community.
The Fun Run was held on March 6, 2026, at 6:00 AM at the Asingan PNP Grounds, where participants proudly wore different shades of purple, the color symbolizing justice, dignity, and women’s rights. Women from across the community actively participated in the run, demonstrating their strength, determination, and unity.
Mayor Carlos Lopez Jr. also joined the event, expressing his support for the celebration and recognizing the important role of women in community development.
The activity served not only as a fun and healthy gathering but also as a powerful reminder of the strength, resilience, and contributions of women in building a more inclusive and empowered community.
